Clean-Tec provides automatic cleaning of workpieces

Well known German company Lang Technik, is recognised as one of the leading manufacturers of workholding and machine tool automation.

Founded in 1982 by Josef Lang, it started off as a contractor for mould-makers and manufacturer of general mechanical components.

An important milestone of the company was the market introduction of the first own product in 1997: The Vario-Tec pin system. Since then the company has developed other innovative workholding products including the Grip-Fix, Makro-Grip, and Quick-Point systems. Every month thousands of clamping set-ups are delivered to customers all over the world to help them increase their production efficiency.
One of the most unique products developed in their early years is the Clean-Tec Cleaning Fan. This remarkable fan automatically cleans the machine table, pallet and/or workpieces after the machining process is complete.
The fan can be stored like a common tool and selected automatically via a CNC program. It can be clamped in every common shank with a diameter of 20 mm.

The fan is activated by the revolving of the machine spindle, whereupon the wings
will unfold to commence the cleaning task. The fan is available in different diameter sizes of 160mm, 260mm, and 330mm.

“Clean-Tec is the practical time saving solution for removing chips and coolant from the machine table, fixtures and workpieces prior to unloading,” said Dimac Managing Director, Paul Fowler.

Dimac has recently been appointed as Lang Technik’s sole distributor in Australia for its extensive range of workholding solutions. This includes its Makro-Grip stamping technology; a patented form-closure technology which provides the highest holding power for 5-face machining worldwide.

The stamping technology, also called pre-stamping, involves the workpiece being stamped outside of the machine tool with up to 20 tons of hydraulic pressure,

“Makro-Grip stamping technology provides tremendous material savings due to minimal clamping edge requirements,” Mr Fowler went on to say.
The range also includes the Makro-Grip 5-axis vise which offers unmatched holding power and the best accessibility for 5-face-machining. It offers high repeat accuracy for inserting workpieces without any endstops and due to its lightweight is easy and flexible to handle.
Other innovative products in the Makro-Grip range include the Dual-Clamping vise – a retrofitting kit for 5-axis vises that allows you to convert your existing Makro-Grip 5-axis vise into a Dual-Clamping vise within just a few moments. The Makro-Grip Dual-Clamping vise is perfectly qualified for batch production.

“Because all Lang Technik’s extensive products come from the one place they are perfectly matched and interfacing problems with other systems do not exist. The modular building system and the multitude of combinations and capabilities are the reason that their workholding systems can be used in almost any machining centre,” Mr Fowler summed up.
“Like all the products we sell, Clean-Tec along with the rest of the Lang Technik range will have the full back up and support of Dimac technical personnel to ensure the products are installed correctly and operate at optimum performance,” Mr Fowler concluded.
