Machine tool shops to benefit from Dimac’s carbide application service

Insufficient grip that causes slipping parts, push back in chuck jaws and collets wearing out prematurely are issues well known to CNC Turning machine tool operators. The resultant production downtime, operator idle time, and expense of new or re-worked jaws is a significant problem. Well known workholding solutions provider Dimac, has recently launched a new service designed to eliminate such issues, using a new form of carbide application equipment called Rocklinizer from the USA. This uses the proven spark deposition process called Rocklinizing to easily and quickly boost the grip coefficient of workholding jaws and collets. The unit electronically applies Read the full article…

New Freddy Bowser offers safe and easy transport of fluids around workplaces.

Well known manufacturer of coolant recycling machines, Freddy, has recently launched an innovative new product, the Freddy Bowser. The Freddy Oil and Coolant Bowser is a safe and easy way to transport fresh coolant around a workshop for filling or top up of CNC machines. Using the same build ethos as the rest of the renowned range, the Bowser is hand built using 2 and 3mm mild steel. The option of both 304 and 316 stainless steel can be specified for those fluids with PH extremes, or those likely to conflict with mild steel. Standard capacity is 200 litres, but Read the full article…

Lang Technik workholding products maximise APT’s productivity

From starting out with a single machine manufacturing spectacle screws, Australian Precision Technology (APT) has successfully evolved into a leader in the production of precision components and assemblies, utilising the latest CNC technology and manufacturing software. At one point APT was the preferred supplier for automotive components manufacturer Robert Bosch, accounting for 86% of the company’s turnover. But like many suppliers faced with the imminent closure of the local car industry, APT needed to diversify into other areas – in their case, the defence industry. To say the company has been successful in this transition is something of an understatement. Read the full article…

Raptor solves Dovetail workholding

Dimac Tooling has been appointed exclusive distributor for Raptor workholding products in Australia and New Zealand. Raptor Workholding based in the US state of Ohio, is well known as being the designer of the innovative and patented dovetail fixture used by some of the world’s leading manufacturers. The dovetail fixture speeds up the manufacturing process by allowing machining of five full sides of the workpiece in one set-up. The design quickly locks the part in place for extreme clamping strength and rigidity with minimal base material. The spring-loaded clamp can be tightened with a simple T-handle wrench. Raptor’s dovetail design Read the full article…

Kitagawa Europe launch Swift Klamp 5-axis workholding system

‘Swift Klamp’ is the latest addition to the Kitagawa Europe family. Using time-proven HSK tool interface technology, Swift Klamp provides a secure, low-interference, quick-change 5-axis workholding system. The system consists of three parts: the clamping head, the work-holder and the work-piece. The clamping head is supplied either as a manually or automatically actuated HSK clamp. The Manual Clamping Head is supplied with a versatile mounting flange to suit multiple mounting options for 5-axis machines and rotary tables. Available in HSK-A40, HSK-A63 and HSK-A100 sizes, with an offline set-up procedure, it is capable for the work-holder system to be exchanged within Read the full article…

New Rotoclear Vision provides CNC operators with remote view into production process.

Rotoclear has been a leader in spin windows for many years; continually evolving and refining its models to provide maximum cleaning effectiveness coupled with simple installation. The latest model, the S3, features the world’s lowest installation height of just 34 mm allowing simpler installation compared to the previous Rotoclear models. With this latest model the device is always mounted on the inside of the inspection window with safety being maintained. There are different options for installation of different machining centre windows with bolt-on or adhesive-mounted versions available. As with previous models, the device works by a rotating disc flinging off Read the full article…

Rocklinizer carbon application equipment provides more grip and reduces wear on clamping tools

CNC Turning machine tool operators can now easily and quickly boost the clamping force of their workholding tools and collet chucks using a new form of carbide application equipment. Called Rocklinizer, and using the proven spark deposition process called Rocklinizing, the unit electronically applies a hard and wear resistant surface of Tungsten Carbide, Titanium Carbide and Rockhard electrode material to workholding tools. Material is impregnated both underneath and on top of the workpiece surface.Unlike welding or metal spraying no appreciable heat is generated. This ensures the temper of the workpiece is retained without distortion and the electrode material will not Read the full article…
